Having a good and consistent skincare routine leading up to your wedding is essential to achieving the perfect canvas for your bridal makeup. Your wedding day prep should also be top priority. Whether you’ve been getting regular facials or additional treatments in the 6 months leading up to your big day, or you’ve kept it low maintenance with just a few key steps in your daily routine, if you don’t make an effort to prep your skin properly on the wedding day it may all end up going unnoticed.

STEP ONE-CLEANSE

Start your morning with a gentle cleanse followed by a hydrating toner. Finding a cleanser and toner that will boost hydration throughout the day is the key to glowing, plump skin on the wedding day.

STEP TWO-SERUM

Hydration is the star ingredient on the wedding day, so finding a serum that can put moisture back into the skin is going to give you that glow you’re hoping for. Look for a serum containing hyaluronic acid. A tip for when adding your hyaluronic acid serum is to make sure your face is still a little damp from cleansing. This allows the serum to soak up the extra water on your skin rather than any moisture from your skin, keeping you nice and hydrated.

STEP THREE-EYE MASK

Pro Tip: your makeup artist can add a few glow drops to the moisturizer to give you a lite from within glow.

STEP FIVE-PRIME

Primers are so important to your wedding day skincare routine. Your makeup artist will decide which primer suits your skin best before applying the makeup. Primers can reduce redness, blur any imperfections and smooth texture, reduce shine, or it can add a dewy glow if that’s your preference. Your artist will know what works best for your skin. Primers also ensure that your makeup will have the longevity required for the entirety of your wedding day.
